Meet, Greet & Have Fun at Topgolf!

Finance leaders, get ready for a unique networking experience! Join us on August 19th to play Topgolf. Topgolf is a fun, high-tech twist on a traditional driving range. You’ll hit real golf balls from climate-controlled bays toward a massive, target-filled outfield.

Food, drinks, and conversation all happen right where you play! Think golf meets bowling alley meets modern sports lounge, built for socializing as much as for swinging a club.

You and your group will share a bay and take turns hitting microchipped golf balls at oversized targets spread across the field. Each shot is tracked automatically and scored on the screen in your bay, so you can see distance, accuracy, and points without keeping score by hand. There’s no special gear required. Clubs are provided, the environment is relaxed, and the games are designed so both serious golfers and complete beginners can jump in comfortably.

Because Topgolf is structured like a game, it naturally breaks the ice: you get friendly competition, shared laughs over good (and not-so-good) shots, and easy conversation between swings. The Reaction Tax: A CFO's Take on Financial Visibility and Decision Speed

A hidden cost is quietly eating into company margins, and most finance teams do not have a name for it. Thomas DeFabrizio, CFO of Impellam Group Americas, calls it the “reaction tax” – the price a business pays when it finds out too late that a decision window has already closed.

DeFabrizio describes the reaction tax as a cost that never shows up as a single line item on the P&L, yet surfaces everywhere else – margin erosion, rushed pricing decisions, vendor contracts signed under duress, and days sales outstanding that quietly stretches until it can no longer be ignored. “No one books a journal entry” for it, he explains, but companies pay it anyway, often without realizing the true source.

The root cause, according to DeFabrizio, is visibility that lags behind the speed of the business. Traditional financial systems and ERPs were not built for how quickly markets and technology are now moving, and CFOs who cannot see a problem coming end up reacting to it instead of preventing it.

His fix starts with narrowing focus: two or three meaningful KPIs across each of five core categories – growth, profit, value, efficiency, and cash – reviewed on a weekly cadence rather than discovered after the quarter closes.
