Financial Executives International (“FEI”) is the preeminent professional association of senior financial executives, representing over 10,000 leaders nationally.  Membership driven, FEI provides peer networking opportunities, personal and professional development, emerging issues alerts, and advocacy resources that advance the success of FEI members, their companies and the profession.

FEI members include Chief Financial Officers, Controllers, Accounting and Finance Directors, Treasurers, Tax Executives, Internal Audit Leaders, other finance executives, and others, including select members of academia and government.  FEI delivers its member benefits through its 55+ chapters, technical committees, and a robust portfolio of services provided by the FEI national office.  FEI International has served financial executives for over 94 years.

Membership in the FEI Silicon Valley (“FEI SV”) chapter provides many local benefits as well as access to FEI national resources.  The Silicon Valley chapter has been in existence since 1976.  The FEI SV chapter provides senior finance executives in the Silicon Valley access to many events throughout the year to be able to share best practices, benefit from education on relevant topics and issues, and network with many other senior finance professionals.  Many events offer CPE credits. FEI SV estimates that based upon forty hours of CPE you can earn annually that just in CPE credits the value of this benefit is $8,000.

The chapter’s membership includes many CFOs and finance executives in a wide variety of industries – with the largest representations in technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, healthcare, food and beverage, financial services and consulting.

FEI SV targets holding one to two in-person events per month during our program year.  Our Silicon Valley dinner in-person events typically include speakers or panel discussions – with our first event for the 2025-26 program year to be help on September 16, 2025. Other in-person events include our professional development interactive sessions where members can network with professionals who are often our partner sponsors who can present technical sessions on various areas and answer questions on various topics.  These professional development sessions also can be done virtually through an online platform. FEI SV has also hosted the Women CFO of the Year Awards for the last two years and has an annual Golf Tournament sponsored by Robert Half.
Recent dinner events have included a variety of topics with memorable speakers including the following:

  • Peter Wilhelm – Fireside Chat with the 49ers CFO
  • Kelly Battles & Michelle Debella – Valuable Experience Engaging with Internal Audit
  • Brett Mock, Anish Srivastava & Jan Robertson – Venture Capital Panel
  • Dave Daetz & Ani Chaudhuri – Inside Story: A recent Cyber Security M&A Deal

FEI SV recently launched the member networking program which allows our members to network with our partner sponsors. This enables members and partner sponsors who may not meet at our in-person meetings and get an opportunity to meet in groups of four to five people when it is at a time that is convenient to each member of the group such as over breakfast or lunch.  The networking group is voluntary and teams are rotated every six months.

The Financial Officers Forum (“FOF”) enables our members to have the ability to mix with other financial professionals to share best practices, personal experiences and their connections on a confidential basis.  Topics have included accounting systems for small to medium sized businesses, compensation ideas for small company board of director members and financial reporting matters for new accounting pronouncements.

FEI SV has Affinity Groups (“AGs) -AGs are focused on specific industry sectors or common areas of interest. Each group is facilitated by chapter moderators – with meetings designed to encourage the exchange of ideas, best practices, and brainstorming discussions among peers. The FEI SV chapter recently launched the Public Company AG in April 2025 and also has an established Mergers & Acquisitions, Financial Officers Forum (FOF), Non-Profit and Social Events.
