Don't Miss the Annual FEISV BBQ!

Our Annual BBQ is one of those standout events that truly brings the entire FEI Silicon Valley community together...and it’s coming up quickly. This is consistently one of our most popular gatherings and typically reaches capacity, so we strongly encourage you to secure your spot early rather than waiting until the last minute.

This year, we’ll gather at Pillsbury’s beautifully remodeled space, designed to foster both intimate conversations and larger, high-energy connections throughout the room. Expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere paired with exceptional food, refreshing drinks, and the kind of easy summer setting that makes it natural to strike up a conversation, whether you’re reconnecting with familiar faces or meeting someone new for the first time.

These moments are what give our Chapter its unique character. Conversations sparked over a great meal can lead to new opportunities, fresh perspectives, and relationships that extend far beyond the event itself.

Whether it’s a career connection, a meaningful introduction, or simply a memorable evening with peers, this Annual BBQ is a reminder that the strength of our community comes from the people in it and the connections we build together.

The Annual FEI Silicon Valley BBQ will be held at Pillsbury in Palo Alto on Tuesday, July 21st, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm Pacific.

Network with the Sharpest Minds in Finance

Bring the issues you’re working through. We’ll build the conversation around them.

The Financial Officers Forum (FOF) Affinity Group brings together CFOs, Controllers, and VP Finance leaders who are actively navigating real decisions in real time. The agenda is driven entirely by the group. You can raise the questions that matter to you, walk through specific scenarios, and get direct input from others who have faced similar challenges.

The conversation goes well beyond theory. Whether it’s evaluating AI tools, pressure-testing implementation decisions, or working through how new technologies fit into close, reporting, or FP&A workflows, discussions are detailed, practical, and grounded in firsthand experience. You’re hearing what’s working, what’s not, and why.

AI continues to be a major focus, but always through a practical lens. Members are digging into how they’re using it day-to-day, how it’s influencing decision-making, and where it’s delivering real value across finance functions.

The format is confidential and peer-led. There’s no set presentation, no sales agenda, and no passive attendance. It’s a working session built on open dialogue, candid feedback, and shared expertise.

Financial Officers Forum (FOF) will be held virtually on Friday, July 24thfrom 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm Pacific.

California Tax Credit Planning Remains Critical as Businesses Face Permanent Limits on Credit Use

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the state’s 2026–27 budget package, which includes S.B. 122, Chapter 23, a revenue trailer bill that, among other things, extends the existing temporary $5 million annual business tax credit limitation through taxable years beginning before January 1, 2030, together with additional exceptions for certain refundable credits or refundable amounts.

The existing cap originally applied for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 taxable years. The new law extends it for three additional years, through taxable year 2029, and applies to business tax credits under both the Personal Income Tax Law and the Corporation Tax Law. An additional limit applies to credits beginning with the 2030 tax year and thereafter.
