Latest Trends in FEI

We’re excited to welcome the FEI Silicon Valley community back together for the Annual FEISV BBQ!

This is one of the few times during the year when the pace slows down a bit, and we can just enjoy being in the same room (or patio) with each other. It’s less about agendas and more about the conversations you don’t usually have time for, including the catch-ups, the introductions, and the moments that make this Chapter feel like more than just a network.

We’re excited to host this year’s BBQ once again at Pillsbury, whose newly remodeled space gives us the best of both worlds—indoor comfort and outdoor space to enjoy a summer evening in Silicon Valley.

If you’ve been to this event before, you know the value is in the people. If you haven’t, this is an easy one to step into. No pressure, no heavy programming. Just a good opportunity to reconnect, meet someone new, and spend time with peers who understand what you do.

We hope you’ll join us for a relaxed evening that reflects FEI Silicon Valley at its best...engaged, welcoming, and grounded in strong connections.

The Annual FEI Silicon Valley BBQ will be held at Pillsbury in Palo Alto on Tuesday, July 21st, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm Pacific.

Run the Discussion at the Financial Officers Forum

Bring the issues you’re working through. We’ll build the conversation around them.

The Financial Officers Forum (FOF) Affinity Group brings together CFOs, Controllers, and VP Finance leaders who are actively navigating real decisions in real time. The agenda is driven entirely by the group. You can raise the questions that matter to you, walk through specific scenarios, and get direct input from others who have faced similar challenges.

The conversation goes well beyond theory. Whether it’s evaluating AI tools, pressure-testing implementation decisions, or working through how new technologies fit into close, reporting, or FP&A workflows, discussions are detailed, practical, and grounded in firsthand experience. You’re hearing what’s working, what’s not, and why.

AI continues to be a major focus, but always through a practical lens. Members are digging into how they’re using it day-to-day, how it’s influencing decision-making, and where it’s delivering real value across finance functions.

The format is confidential and peer-led. There’s no set presentation, no sales agenda, and no passive attendance. It’s a working session built on open dialogue, candid feedback, and shared expertise.

Financial Officers Forum (FOF) will be held virtually on Friday, July 24th, from 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm Pacific.

Financial Reporting for Multi-Entity Organizations: Why a Robust Data Strategy Matters

An organization’s financial statements tell a story that goes beyond presenting a high-level view of its fiscal big picture. Analyzing the underlying data can uncover revenue drivers, outliers, cost fluctuations, and other areas that can skew financial performance.

However, for multi-entity organizations such as franchise groups, the path to clean, decision-ready reporting is often far from straightforward. When organizations span multiple units, brands, and geographic locations, finance teams often contend with inconsistent data inputs, incompatible systems and processes, and limited visibility into data. For franchisors and franchisees alike, strong financial reporting depends on a robust data strategy.

Reliable and meaningful reporting across multi-entity organizations is possible with the right data and process foundation in place. In this article, we explain ways to build a strong data strategy, establish consistent accounting processes, and focus on critical accounting functions.
