Latest Trends in FEI

We had so much fun at Topgolf last year that we’re doing it again. See last year's pictures here. Don’t miss out this Wednesday on all the fun!

The best business conversations don’t always happen across a conference table. Sometimes, they happen between swings, laughs, and a little friendly competition.

Join fellow finance leaders at Topgolf on Wednesday, August 19, for one of FEISV’s most anticipated networking events. A favorite among FEISV members, this relaxed evening is a great way to reconnect with peers and meet new finance leaders.

You don’t need to be a golfer to join us. Whether you’re learning the basics, practicing your swing, or looking for a fresh challenge, Topgolf offers a fun, low-pressure setting for everyone. And if a client, colleague, or prospective business partner invites you out for a round, you’ll be more comfortable picking up a club and taking a swing.

FEISV Topgolf & Social will be held at Topgolf in Burlingame on Wednesday, August 19th, from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm Pacific.

Financial Officers Forum - Next Month!

The Financial Officers Forum (FOF) is back! This virtual session brings together senior finance professionals for a dynamic, peer-driven quarterly discussion group.FOF is designed for CFOs, Controllers, VPs of Finance, and advisors who provide consulting services to organizations across industries.

This is a highly interactive, confidential setting, similar to a Vistage format, where participants shape the conversation based on real-world client challenges, share best practices, and exchange insights drawn from firsthand experience.

What makes FOF especially valuable is the perspective in the room. You’ll gain exposure not only to your peers’ expertise, but also to what consulting CFOs are seeing across multiple organizations—offering a broader view of emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.

Past discussions have covered topics such as accounting systems for small businesses, the pros and cons of PEOs, compensation strategies for small company board members, ASC 606 audit experiences, and internal reporting and measurement approaches for SaaS companies.

This forum is relevant for finance leaders and advisors at any stage, regardless of industry, who are looking to stay sharp, expand their thinking, and engage in meaningful, candid dialogue.

When you register, you’ll be asked to submit a question or topic you’d like the group to address. This ensures that each session is tailored to the real challenges participants are facing today!

Financial Officers Forum (FOF) will be held virtually on Friday, September 25th, from 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm Pacific.

Manufacturing Sector Posts Fastest Growth Since 2022

American factories grew at their fastest pace since 2022 last month. The details have AI and defense spending written all over them.

Most of the sub-indexes in July’s Manufacturing ISM Report on Business showed faster growth, capping a prolonged contraction driven by the 2025 tariffs.

The employment index turned positive for the first time in a long time, suggesting the momentum is not going away anytime soon.

Risks remain. Energy prices and inflation more broadly could push long-term borrowing costs higher, which would dampen the mood among manufacturers. The prices index still pointed to rapid increases, largely on the back of energy and other input costs.

Looking ahead, experts at RSM expect more capital expenditure and defense spending to filter through the economy via the manufacturing channel over the remainder of the year. For now, the balance of risks tilts to the upside given current economic conditions.
