AI: Hype or Reality? A CIO's Perspective on the Future of the Enterprise and the Office of the CFO
AI is dominating every boardroom conversation…but how much of it is real, and how much is just hype?
Join us at Pillsbury for AI: Hype or Reality? A CIO's Perspective on the Future of the Enterprise and the Office of the CFO, a must-attend discussion for finance and technology leaders looking to cut through the noise and understand what AI truly means for their organizations.
This candid, executive-level conversation with the FEI Silicon Valley Chapter will explore how today’s CIOs are evaluating, adopting, and operationalizing AI across large enterprises—and how those decisions are reshaping the CFO's role. Moving beyond buzzwords, this session focuses on where AI is already delivering measurable value, where it is still evolving, and what it takes to implement it responsibly.
From automating close and reporting cycles to enhancing forecasting, controls, and decision-making, you will gain practical insight into how leading organizations are putting AI to work today. You will also walk away with a clearer understanding of how finance and technology leaders can align to turn AI ambition into real operational results.
Whether you are actively investing in AI or still assessing its role, this is a conversation you should not miss.
AI: Hype or Reality? A CIO's Perspective on the Future of the Enterprise and the Office of the CFO will be held at Pillsbury in Palo Alto on Tuesday, September 15th, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm Pacific.

Financial Officers Forum - Next Month!
The Financial Officers Forum (FOF) is back! This virtual session brings together senior finance professionals for a dynamic, peer-driven quarterly discussion group.
FOF is designed for CFOs, Controllers, VPs of Finance, and advisors who provide consulting services to organizations across industries. This is a highly interactive, confidential setting, similar to a Vistage format, where participants shape the conversation based on real-world client challenges, share best practices, and exchange insights drawn from firsthand experience.
What makes FOF especially valuable is the perspective in the room. You’ll gain exposure not only to your peers’ expertise, but also to what consulting CFOs are seeing across multiple organizations—offering a broader view of emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
Past discussions have covered topics such as accounting systems for small businesses, the pros and cons of PEOs, compensation strategies for small company board members, ASC 606 audit experiences, and internal reporting and measurement approaches for SaaS companies.
This forum is relevant for finance leaders and advisors at any stage, regardless of industry, who are looking to stay sharp, expand their thinking, and engage in meaningful, candid dialogue.
When you register, you’ll be asked to submit a question or topic you’d like the group to address. This ensures that each session is tailored to the real challenges participants are facing today!
Financial Officers Forum (FOF) will be held virtually on Friday, September 25th, from 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm Pacific.

Make a Difference in the Finance Community's Future
The Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament supports an incredible cause with the FEI Scholarship Fund, but our commitment to developing the future of finance extends far beyond a single day.
Each year, we award 6–8 scholarships to finance and accounting students across four Bay Area colleges. To date, more than $774,000 has been awarded to students in their junior and senior years. These recipients are selected not only for academic excellence but also for leadership demonstrated through extracurricular involvement and a clear vision for their careers.
Our support does not stop at financial assistance. Scholarship winners and finalists are welcomed as FEI Rising Star Members, gaining access to ongoing mentorship and meaningful interaction with senior financial executives. This continued engagement helps bridge the gap between education and real-world leadership, shaping the next generation of finance professionals.
While the golf tournament is a cornerstone of this effort, sustaining and growing this impact requires year-round support. Expanding opportunities for these students depends on the strength of our community.
There are two ways to contribute:
- Donate with a charitable receipt: The FEI Scholarship Fund 1388 is managed by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations can be made through their PayPal platform, and the full amount goes directly to the scholarship fund.
- Donate without a charitable receipt: Companies that prefer to contribute through a business expense can support FEI Silicon Valley’s general fund, which directly benefits student scholarships.
Your support helps ensure that high-potential students receive not only financial assistance, but also the guidance, access, and professional foundation they need to succeed.
