FEI SILICON VALLEY hosts membership events and activities designed to enhance and enrich the relationships that are critical to a successful professional career.
Eight times a year on the third Tuesday of the month, from September through November and January through May; featuring high-profile speakers, a pre-dinner wine-tasting and cocktail reception, and a gourmet dinner. A sampling of prominent speakers include: US Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez; President of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Janet Yellin; NYSE CEO Duncan Niederauer; NASDAQ CEO Robert Greifeld, CEO of Yahoo!, Carol Bartz; CEO of the San Francisco Giants, Bill Neukom; White House Chief of Staff to George W. Professional Development Seminars:
Monthly breakfast and afternoon seminars; featuring expert speakers on a variety of important professional education topic accredited for CPE requirements.
CFO Readiness Academy:
Annually; The CFO Readingess Academy is comprised of four modules, focusing on Leadership, Corporate Finance, CFO & the Law, and Career Development. Each module is designed to be approximately 50% information or scenario sharing and 50% interaction and problem solving with fellow attendees. An “executive in residence” who can provide some pragmatic answers to your questions will accompany our facilitators. Sharing with and learning from fellow attendees is key to this event’s success!
Quarterly meetings featuring speakers on career management and development, (personal branding, job search insights, exec compensation, social media, exec legal risks etc.) with plenty of time for networking. Most offer CPE credits.
FEI Alliance of CFOs:
A monthly working group specifically for CFOs or a comparable role currently in transition or soon expect to be in transition. The group is managed by an executive coach that provides leadership and business effectiveness training to executive teams and companies focusing upon successful transition outcomes. Event Date - Second Wednesday of each month.
Special Activities and Events:
Monthly Rising Stars Advisory Board meetings of FEISV Scholarship winner and finalist alumni. Annual Scholarships Golf Tournament, Doing Good While Doing Well volunteer event, Family Social Event, and Holiday Party.
Affinity Group Events:
Affinity Groups are meant to foster peer-to-peer discussion and networking focused on specific industry sectors or areas of common interest. Facilitated by a chapter-member moderator, with meeting topics of interest to each group, the meetings are designed to stimulate round-table discussion and wisdom sharing amongst peers.
So far, we have established three Affinity Groups, which meet on a periodic basis, as follows:

Women in Finance Affinity Group – moderated by Tina Kobetsky

We honor approximately a dozen outstanding students in Finance and Accounting from Bay Area universities with scholarships each year. In addition, we serve at the Second Harvest Food Bank one afternoon a year "to do good while doing well" in the Silicon Valley.
