Rising Stars: Important Trends in Tech M&A Dealmaking
- This event has passed.
2021 and 2020 were record years for Tech M&A, with several important trends emerging. While large strategic acquirers have fueled much of this activity, Private Equity has emerged as a major force in the tech M&A market. Used to be that Private Equity preferred more traditional industries, but recently PE has discovered tech M&A, with many specialized funds rolling up sectors such as software, med tech, cloud and data analytics. SPACs or special-purpose (publicly-listed) acquisition companies were a hot trend in 2020 and early 2021 aggressively seeking acquisitions, but due to greater regulatory scrutiny that has largely diminished. With rising interest rates announced by the fed and a jittery stock market impacting valuations, what portends for Tech M&A in 2022?
Please join us on March 2nd to hear a perspective from veteran M&A expert, Jan Robertson.
