Building Customer Trust by Addressing the Multi-Cloud Security Risk & Compliance Puzzle

Customers increasingly expect cloud-based businesses to attain security compliance certifications to demonstrate that their SaaS offerings comply with various global government regulations and industry standards. Prasant Vadlamudi (Cisco and Adobe) and Frank Teruel (Mitek Systems, ThreatMetrix and Adara) will share their experience from companies large and small on how they have addressed the objective of building customer trust. Here are some of the areas they will address:

  • Current trends of compliance requirements.
  • Customer view and certifications needed to meet market objectives and priorities.
  • How to build a Common Controls Framework (CCF) tailored towards the target SaaS infrastructure.
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC): Get certified, improve security, maintain compliance, and evolve through a robust GRC program.

Prasant Vadlamudi
Global head of Cloud Computing Compliance

Prasant Vadlamudi is the head of Cisco’s Global Cloud Compliance within the Security and Trust Organization. He is responsible for delivering a security and compliance baseline for all Cisco SaaS offers to improve the company’s security posture for risk reduction and access across global markets. Prasant is a senior leader with more than 16 years of experience in information security, trust, risk management and compliance. He has deep expertise in cloud security, and global certifications combined with a passion for tackling massive, industry-wide security challenges.

Prior to Cisco, Prasant served as the Head of Adobe’s Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance group, managing global security compliance and certifications for Adobe Services. He was the key architect of the Adobe Common Controls Framework (CCF), which became the foundation for all Adobe certification and trust strategies and unlocked global sales opportunities for their SaaS offers.

Prasant’s higher purpose is to develop future security leaders.

Frank Teruel
Mitek Systems

Frank Teruel is a technology executive with more than 30 years of experience. He has a passion for financial inclusion and deep domain expertise in digital identities, cyberthreat, and fraud prevention. As Mitek’s CFO and SVP, Frank is focused on scaling the company to facilitate rapid growth and efficiency and expanding Mitek’s category leading digital identity offerings.

Prior to Mitek, Frank served as the COO of Adara, a predictive intelligence company. Before that, Frank led ThreatMetrix through rapid growth across geographies and industries culminating in an $830 million sale to LexisNexis Risk Solutions, where he subsequently served as SVP and General Manager.

Frank is a frequent speaker and thought leader on digital identities, cybersecurity, and internet fraud prevention topics. With a passion for developing the next generation of business leaders, Frank has spent the last ten years serving as an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business.

Binita Pradhan, CPA, CISA

Binita leads BDO’s West Region Third Party Attestation practice with over 20 years in public accounting, starting with Coopers and Lybrand back in the day and is a member of the AICPA SOC 2 Task Force that authors SOC 2 guides; and the AICPA SOC Supply Chain Task Force that authors SOC for supply chain guides.

She was recognized as one of the most influential business women in the Bay Area by San Francisco Business Times for 2018 and also servers on Ascend NorCal Board (a non-profit dedicated to Pan-Asian professionals succeed). She was also recognized by Ascend with a High Impact Leader award in 2018.

Binita has experience working with a wide range of industries including technology, financial services, professional services, healthcare, and governmental organizations. She is a member of BDO’s Third Party Attestation Working Group that sets the methodology and practice standards for third party attestation service within BDO.
